Halb-verloren, halb-vergessen. Geschichte und Bedeutung des Minnesang-Fragments C^a (Troßsches Fragment)

Das Minnesang-Fragment C a (Krakau, Biblioteka Jagiellońska, Berol. mgq 519, auch “Troßsches Fragment” genannt) fristet zumeist ein Dasein in Fußnoten und Exkursen, ohne dass eine zusammenhängende Betrachtung die Eigenheiten der Handschrift zu erschließen versuchte. Der Aufsatz stellt die Geschichte des Fragments – sowohl die neuzeitliche, als auch (sofern rekonstruierbar) die mittelalterliche – dar und fragt nach der Bedeutung des Bruchstücks als direkter Abschrift des Codex Manesse im Rahmen der Minnesang-Überlieferung.

The History and Importance of the Minnesang Fragment C a (Tross Fragment) As an object of scholarly attention, the Minnesang fragment C a (Kraków, Biblioteka Jagiellońska, Berol. mgq 519, also called the “Tross Fragment”) most often finds itself banned to the periphery occupied by footnotes, digressions and the like. Up to now, there has been no coherent study of the specificities of the manuscript. This article describes the history of the fragment – both modern and medieval (to the extent that the latter can be reconstructed) – and considers its significance as a direct copy of the Codex Manesse within the historical tradition of medieval German Minnesang.
