Post/Decolonial Approaches: the Representations of the Caribbean in Periodicals Digital Archive (ROCPDA)

This article examines the planning, curation, and development of the Representations of the Caribbean in Periodicals Digital Archive (ROCPDA). The article traces the emergence of the project, its methodologies and main aims, and explores some of the problems involved in creating archives composed of colonial records. The article argues that creating digital archives such as ROCPDA necessitates approaches to archival research, curation, and presentation that are grounded in post-and decolonial praxis, and details some of the approaches ROCPDAused in its mission to serve as a critical digital archive, rather than a passive repository of colonial records.
